The Team !

Hi, my name is Matty.  I am a life long animal lover and have always planned to study and work with animals.

I have a BSc in Zoo Biology covering animal behaviour, welfare, enrichment, nutrition and training techniques and have experience handling a wide range of domestic and exotic animals. I have worked as an intern zookeeper, caring for a wide range of mammals, birds and reptiles.

I have decided to return to my roots in Colkirk, Norfolk to set up my own pet service business offering dog walking, pet pop-ins and dog training. I am continuing to study to improve my knowledge and hopefully extend the services I'm able to offer in the future.

I have a particular passion for animal welfare and you can be confident that your pet will not only be safe in my care but that  I will ensure they are happy, stimulated and exercised appropriately.

I have a calm and friendly character and love being active and outdoors especially when walking our two family dogs, Blaze ( 11 year old rescue Springer Spaniel) and Barnsey (our 1 year old golden retriever).

Terms and Conditions

Bookings & Cancellations:

Fur and Feather (F&F) require a minimum of 48 hours notice from the client for all service cancellations or reschedule requests to avoid the full visit fee being charged. If the client has purchased a service as part of a discounted bundle offer then the service cannot be cancelled but we will do our best to reschedule to a more convenient date and time. If it is not safe to walk your dog due to extreme weather conditions, F&F will contact the client to discuss alternative arrangements.

F&F reserve the right to refuse or cancel a contract if they feel a pet is aggressive or too dangerous to be in our care.

Payments:

All services should be paid for via bank transfer or cash within 48 hours of your invoice date. No services will commence until payment has been made.

Keys & Home Access:

If the client requires F&F to hold a house key, they will be kept in a secure location and only used for scheduled visits. We will ensure your home is locked upon departure.  We will only enter agreed-upon areas of your home. Any alarms should be clearly explained during our initial visit.

Pet Health: It is the owners responsibility to ensure all pets are up to date with vaccinations, flea, and worming treatments. Please provide proof during the meet and greet.

Medication & Special Needs:

F&F are happy to administer prescribed medication as per your instructions. Please disclose any behavioural issues or medical conditions (including allergies) upfront on the information form. The client must notify us if their dog is in season or if their health needs change.

Emergencies & Vet Care:

In the event of an emergency, we will contact you immediately. If you are unreachable, we reserve the right to take your pet to your nominated vet (or the nearest emergency vet) at the owner's expense.

Safety :

Clients must supply a secure collar or harness for their dogs to wear for walks and ensure dogs are tagged and microchipped. Please inform us if your dog reacts to particular triggers. F&F do not offer care for dangerous or aggressive pets. You must declare if any of your animals fall into this category. All dogs will be walked on lead unless otherwise requested by the client.

Liability & Insurance:

F&F is fully insured; however, owners are responsible for any damage caused by their pets or care needed for pre-existing medical issues.

Owner Responsibilities:

The client will supply any clothing they wish their dog to wear and towels if they wish their dog to be cleaned down on return. F&F will provide poo bags, and treats for the walk.

For home visits the client is responsible to provide sufficient food, cleaning supplies, and clear care instructions.

All training sessions (unless agreed otherwise) require an owner to be present to ensure training is consistent and ongoing between guided sessions. This should ideally be the same person for all sessions to ensure consistency.

The client is responsible for ensuring information provided on the information form is correct.
